Level 2: The Individual Self

We are happy to announce that we have successfully reapplied to the YouTube Partnership program, and our YouTube membership program has been reactivated. Last year, the “powers that be” at YouTube decided that 13 million views on a Chris Langan video was too much. Without having received a strike or even a warning, in almost 3 years, YouTube decided to demonetize our channel for “deceptive practices“.

Without any example of an infraction, I attempted to appeal the charge. Given just 5 minutes to explain why we weren’t deceptive, spammy, or scammy, I was forced to stick to the topic. I must have been successful because they came back with a totally different bogus reason for denying our appeal. It was just more nonsense, so I reapplied when our punishment window expired. I had no idea what would happen, but if our request for remonetization failed, they would be outed as the reprehensible miscreants that they truly are. Fortunately, it passed, but we know that the platform can never be fully trusted!
