Much Ado About Nothing
The problem of ex nihilo cosmogony is legitimately difficult, if only because it defies standard ways of thinking.
This, of course, is just the latest manifestation of an old controversy. There's nothing really new about it; essentially the same discussion has occurred innumerable times before. In some of those discussions, progress was seemingly made toward a resolution. But unfortunately, these bits of progress were somehow misplaced before the next major discussion arose.
