Progressive muscle relaxation is an anxiety-reduction technique that involves systematically tensing and then relaxing the muscles of the body. It can be done anywhere and doesn’t require any special equipment. This exercise begins at the feet and progresses through the legs, calves, abdomen, hands, arms, and face. It may be uncomfortable to tense and relax muscles at first but with practice it can become enjoyable.
