We live in a high-stress world. Like it or not, we have chosen to incarnate during a time of extreme upheaval and spiritual warfare. Even if our local stressors are manageable, this layer of global stress contributes to the negative effects of stress on the body. This article reminds us of some easy and accessible techniques to lower the stress in our daily lives.

Keeping in touch with friends and family and having fun — like watching movies or even laughter yoga — are good stress relievers. Physical exercise also helps a lot. Eating healthy, getting enough sleep, and avoiding unhealthy habits like smoking or drinking too much are critically important for relieving stress. But if your stress levels seem to be getting out of control, you may need to reach out to friends or even seek professional help. Left to fester, excess stress lowers immune system functioning and increases susceptibility to disease.1
