Surprisingly, or perhaps not surprisingly, we had never heard of Walter Russell until quite recently when a commenter mentioned him. I still don’t know too much about his work, but enough to see that he was a great thinker who, like Wheeler and de Chardin, held a metaphysical worldview that anticipated the CTMU. Although his ideas were somewhat elementary from a 21st Century CTMU perspective, they were very much ahead of his time and his contemporaries. Is it any wonder that his work remains obscure? CTMU enthusiasts will enjoy this brief dive into Russell’s fantastic work! ~Dr. Genie
Walter Russell was a polymath and accomplished sculptor, painter, and philosopher who believed that every man had consummate genius within him. He also believed that the universe was founded on a unifying principle of rhythmic balanced interchange. According to biographers, in 1921, Russell had a spiritual experience that illuminated his consciousness into the Light of Cosmic Consciousness. He is reported to have spent thirty-nine days and nights in this state.1
